VOLUNTEER & INTERN
Welcome! As we prepare for The Ann Arbor Blues Festival 50th Anniversary this August 16-18 2019, we are seeking enthusiastic and friendly volunteers to help plan and run the festival. There are a variety of volunteer positions, from hospitality to operations. Being a volunteer is a great opportunity to get to experience the behind-the-scenes action and to listen to some stellar blues music. We are counting on great volunteers like you to help make the event a success!
Must be 16 years of age (under 18 years of age must provide the consent of a parent or guardian)
Must provide or arrange own transportation (to and from agreed location)
Must be available onsite the following dates: August 15th, 16th, 17th, 18th & 19th
Must attend at least one volunteer training session
Commitment to at least 2 shifts *each shift is 4 hours long*

Tangible work experience in Pre-Festival Management Operations and Onsite Event Production Logistics
Opportunity to work with the Festival & Project Lead Team
Day or full weekend festival pass (depending on commitment)
Upon satisfactory completion of your assigned duties, you will receive letter of recommendation for college, employment, etc.
Social Media and Marketing Communications Intern
You are responsible for the coordination and implementation of engaging photo and video content across all social media, including Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter. This position focuses on integrating social media, promotions, and community outreach to build awareness and excitement for the festival.
Business Administration Intern
You are responsible for the collection and analyzation of materials surrounding the festival. This position focuses on simple administrative tasks to ensure the festival stays organized and on track.
Graphic Design/Web Design Intern
You are responsible for designing and assessing a range of music focused print and web materials such as print ads, outdoor displays, printed handouts, and web graphics. This position focuses on using Adobe InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop to create materials that highlight the musical and historical significance of the festival.
and Festival Management Intern
You are responsible for ensuring that all related parties in stage production, from the artists to the sound system. This position is mainly on site assisting with efficiency of the Pre & Post Production as well as the effectiveness of the scheduling and overall event.
