In 1969, a group of University of Michigan students defied racial prejudice and gathered what is widely considered the greatest lineup of blues musicians ever assembled. Their efforts would unleash a chain of events that changed the world.
"Without doubt the festival of the year, if not the decade.”
Dan Morgenstern – Music Critic, Downbeat Magazine, Oct. 1969
The Management Team has decided to take time off to reassess and re-evaluate its priorities and the future of the Ann Arbor Blues Festival.
Accordingly, there will be no 2020 Ann Arbor Blues Festival.
We would like to thank all those who have contributed to the Festival's success over the past few years. Without the unwavering commitments of our sponsors, volunteers, vendors, crew, musicians, and, of course, our fans, it would have been impossible to have revived such an important and historic event.
We hope to be back in 2021, bigger and better than ever.
Until then, please visit our merchandise page or send an email inquiry to to buy posters, t-shirts, and other vintage and contemporary Ann Arbor Blues (and Jazz) Festival memorabilia. We intend to add more items over the next few weeks, so check back often.
